AGGRASTAT is intended for use with acetylsalicylic acid and heparin.
AGGRASTAT is for use in the hospital only, prescribed by specialist physicians, such as cardiologists, experienced in the management of acute coronary syndromes.
AGGRASTAT is given intravenously, at an initial rate of 0.4 µg/kg/min for 30 minutes and then continued at 0.1 µg/kg/min for patients with unstable angina or non–Q-wave MI.
Patients with severe renal insufficiency (creatinine clearance <30 ml/min) should receive half the usual rate of infusion.
No dosage adjustment is recommended for elderly patients.
